Networking - A daunting, intimidating roller coaster of boredom tagged on to the end of an already long day, or an amazing opportunity to get paid to eat, drink and be merry with bright, commercially savvy individuals?

Given my previous 9-year stint in education, where the closest thing to networking was a parents’ evening, I absolutely love networking. My thoughts on it come from my ethos of the importance of a work life balance in general. Most people networking don’t actually want to talk about work. Making sure you don’t eat, live, sleep, breathe your job gives you more opportunity to pursue other interests, increasing the likely hood of striking up a genuine mutual connection with someone, the perfect foundation on which to do business.
